Gabby’s World shares fourth single, “33”

The fourth single from GABBY SWORD, the upcoming album by Gabby’s World, is “33.” The song comes out April 7, 2023 via self-release on songwriter/producer Gabby Smith’s own label, Carrot All Records.

“33” is a melancholy love song about the early bliss of romance. Driven by an airy, finger-picked, electric guitar and slowly has its gaps filled by swirling synths, lofty harmonies, and a bass line that almost acts as a lead instrument. There’s also a special guitar solo written and performed by Sam Acchione (of Alex G). The song was written and arranged by Smith, then co-produced and co-mixed by Smith and Barrie Lindsay (Barrie). ABOUT GABBY’S WORLD:

Gabby’s World is the recording and performance project of songwriter and producer Gabby Smith. Originally from New York City, Smith has had a long career in music, collaborating and working with artists including Frankie Cosmos, Japanese Breakfast, Barrie, Bellows, and more. After a five-year hiatus from releasing music, with a stint studying human evolutionary biology at Columbia University, Smith has amassed a large collection of new songs that span a variety of moods and genres.

Gabby’s World’s newest release will come out in 2023 with a somewhat experimental album cycle release plan. A new single will be announced and released each month of the year, eventually culminating in a full album later in 2023, entitled GABBY SWORD. The first track, “Sank,” came out on January 27th. The second track, “Closing Door,” came out February 3, on the first Bandcamp Friday of the year. “Corrina,” the single for March, came out on March 3 and was featured on Spotify’s "Fresh Finds Indie” playlist. While the last record was recorded in collaboration with the live band, this next batch of songs is the work of Smith alone, with production input from Smith’s wife, Barrie Lindsay, of Barrie. GABBY SWORD will be self-released on Smith’s own label, Carrot All Records, which now houses previous Gabby’s World releases O.K. (2015) and Beast On Beast (2018).
